❗️ App preview videos, also have specific requirements per platform

🍎 Apple App Store Requirements for Preview Video

  • You are allowed to have up to 3 videos.

  • The video autoplays in mute in the search results.

  • The preview has to be between 15 and 30 seconds in length.

  • You would have to create a piece in two different resolutions (three, if you want the video to be shown to iPad users).

  • The resolutions are:

    • 1080x1920 or 1920x1080 (for iPhone 5/6/7/8 and 6 plus/7 plus/8 plus)

    • 886x1920 or 1920x886 (for iPhone X and Xs Max/XR)

    • 1200x1600 or 1600x1200 (for iPad and iPad Pro)
      Your video will automatically become smaller for any other device.

  • The maximum file size is 50 MB.

  • The accepted file formats are .mov, .mp4, and .m4v.

  • The videos for the App Store have to be manually approved by Apple. And there are quite a few guidelines that you have to follow. For example, you are allowed to only use captured footage of the app itself.

🤖 Google Play Requirements for Preview Video

  • You can have only one video.

  • It can be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long.

  • To watch the video, users have to click on the play button that will be displayed over the feature graphic. After that, a YouTube link will open (so no autoplay for Google Play).

  • You would have to create a good-quality, landscape-oriented video. The aspect ratio for YouTube videos is 16:9.

  • The recommended dimensions are:

    • 1920 x 1080 (1080p);

    • 2560 x 1440 (1440p);

    • 3840 x 2160 (2160p).

  • Accepted video formats include .mov, .mpeg4. There are pretty much no restrictions for the actual content. But it would be great if you manage to show only Android devices and the Google Play Store badge.

Premium quality videos ensure higher quality and are recorded using special studio equipment. These types of videos are produced by a select community of creators in their home studios with better lighting and solid color backdrops. 🏠

Basic quality is your typical UGC video, shot in a home environment. It is simpler and usually filmed with a smartphone. 🤳

Model Shot

The creator is talking into the camera. This doesn't mean that creator will show only his/her full body. They can show half of it or only face if it's more appropriate for your product. Typically a 3/4 medium shot of a creator talking into the camera is used for this type of video.

a top-down point-of-view. The main focus in these videos is on your product and the creator's voice is in the background or added as a voice-over.

Duration

Depending on where you're planning on using the videos, you can select how long you want your content to be. Our most popular duration is 30 seconds
