When you create a campaign, Billo now automatically checks your brief for elements that make it more demanding to produce and lets you offer creators extra pay to take it on.
Why this exists
Some briefs ask more of a creator than others, coordinating a second person on camera, filming on location, cooking on camera, and so on. Top creators sometimes pass on these briefs because the payout doesn't match the extra effort. Adding a bonus makes your offer more attractive to the creators most likely to deliver great results.
How it works
When you submit a brief, we automatically scan it for factors that add complexity. If we detect any, you'll see a "Complexity detected" notice before you publish, along with a recommended bonus amount.
The recommended bonus amount varies from brief to brief; it's calculated based on which complexity factors are present, so simpler briefs may see a smaller suggested amount, while briefs with more factors will see a higher one. The amount shown is just a recommendation; it's entirely up to you whether to add it, and you can adjust the sum yourself.

FAQ
How is the bonus amount calculated?
Each factor we detect carries its own recommended value, and we add them together to suggest a total. The minimum recommended bonus is $20, and the maximum is $190, though you're free to set a higher amount if you'd like.
Do I have to add the bonus?
No, it's completely optional. If we detect complexity, you can choose to skip the bonus and publish your campaign as usual.
You can also add a bonus even if your brief wasn't flagged as complex; this can help get attention from in-demand creators when your timeline is tight.
Can I change the bonus amount?
Yes, while you're still building your campaign, you can edit the bonus amount freely. Once the campaign is submitted, the amount is locked in and can't be changed.
Can I remove a bonus after submitting?
Generally, no, once a campaign is submitted, the bonus can't be removed. The one exception is multi-video campaigns: if you deselect a video at checkout, the bonus tied to that video won't apply.
Will I be able to see which briefs had a bonus?
Yes, you'll be able to see whether a bonus was added from your Brief Overview.
