CapCut
Here are the basic steps for editing videos in CapCut:
Step 1. Import your footage
Open CapCut and tap the "+ New project" button to start a new project.
Select the video clips you want to edit from your phone’s gallery.
Once imported, the clips will appear on a timeline for editing.
Step 2. Trim and split clips
Tap the video clip in the timeline that you want to edit.
Use the "Trim" tool by dragging the ends of the clip to remove unnecessary parts.
To split a clip, place the playhead where you want the cut, then tap the "Split" button. This is useful if you want to remove a section in the middle of the video.
Step 3. Adjust the aspect ratio
Check the task brief to ensure the correct aspect ratio is selected. Tap the "Aspect Ratio" button at the bottom of the screen to adjust this.
Once the correct aspect ratio is chosen, make sure your clips fill the entire canvas without static black frames. Learn more about this in the Video Resolution Requirements article.
Step 4. Add a Voiceover
For voiceovers, tap the "Audio" button and then "Record". Speak into your phone’s microphone to record narration or instructions over your video.
If your voiceover is in a separate video or audio file:
Go to "Audio" > "Sounds".
To extract audio from a video, tap the folder icon 📁, choose "Extracted", and select the video with your voiceover.
If you've recorded the voiceover as an audio file, choose "Device" and select the audio file from your phone.
Step 5. Remove CapCut ending
By default, CapCut adds an ending screen to your videos. To remove it, simply tap the clip of the CapCut ending in the timeline and delete it.
Step 6. Export the Video
Once you’re happy with your edits, tap the "Export" button in the top right corner.
Set the following export settings:
Resolution: 1080P
Frame Rate: 30 fps
Code Rate: Recommended
