Creating high-quality content isn’t just about creativity; it’s also about getting the technical details right. This guide covers essential camera settings, resolution, aspect ratio, and file format requirements to ensure your videos look professional and upload smoothly to the app without any issues. 👍

Camera Settings

  1. Film in 1080p HD at 30 fps or 4K at 30 fps. Avoid using the "High Efficiency" format.

  2. Make sure HDR is disabled.

For Android:

How to Achieve the Correct Aspect Ratio

Once your camera settings are configured as shown in the screenshots above, simply hold or position your phone based on the required aspect ratio.

  • For a 16:9 ratio, film horizontally (landscape mode).

  • For a 9:16 ratio, film vertically (portrait mode).

Why Turn Off HDR?

HDR can alter the colors in your video when uploaded to the Billo Creator's App. If your video looks washed out or the colors appear different after uploading, HDR is likely the cause. To prevent this, simply turn off HDR when filming.

Detailed Summary of Video Technical Requirements (Advanced)

Here’s a full list of technical requirements. If this seems complicated, don’t worry—just follow the instructions above to set up your camera settings and achieve the correct resolution.

  • Aspect Ratio & Resolution:

    • 16:9 (landscape): 1920 x 1080

    • 9:16 (portrait): 1080 x 1920

  • Frame Rate: 30 fps, fixed frame rate

  • Compression: h.264, square pixels

  • Color Depth: 8-bit, SDR

  • Audio: Stereo, AAC compression, 128kbps, sound in both channels

  • Geo Tags & Other Non-Video Streams: Removed

  • Recommended File Format: mp4

Fixing Aspect Ratio Issues in Editing Apps: CapCut and InShot

Seeing black lines around your video? Or did you receive an edit request to remove black or blurred lines? These issues are often easy to fix in your editing app.

❗️However, if you filmed in the wrong aspect ratio (e.g., shot a 16:9 horizontal video for a 9:16 task), you must refilm as zooming in too much will degrade quality.

CapCut

1. Select the Correct Aspect Ratio:

Choose the appropriate ratio (16:9 or 9:16) based on your task.

2. Eliminate Black Lines:

Even with the correct aspect ratio, your video must fill the entire canvas. If you see black lines or black frame, zoom in on the video until the whole canvas is filled, as shown in the tutorial below.

💡Pro Tip: If the app's background is dark, it might be hard to see the black lines. Change the canvas background to a bright color to spot and eliminate them.

InShot

1. Select the Correct Aspect Ratio:

Choose the appropriate ratio (16:9 or 9:16) based on your task.

2. Remove Blurred Lines:

If you see blurred or static lines around your video, zoom in until the entire canvas is filled, as demonstrated in the tutorial below.

By following these guidelines, you’ll ensure that your videos meet the necessary quality standards and are ready for use across all platforms. 🎯 The right camera settings and aspect ratios not only make your videos look professional but also save you from extra editing work later on. Keep these tips in mind, and you’ll be well on your way to creating outstanding content. 🌟
