To ensure smooth collaboration and avoid delays in content delivery, it’s important to follow Billo’s guidelines when submitting a brief.

This article outlines what not to do when creating a task brief—and why it matters.

📝 Use the Designated Brief Fields Only

When creating a brief, all required information, script, talking points, references, video style, etc., must be included within the provided fields.

💡 Why this matters: The brief is visible to creators before they apply. If your script or instructions are missing or shared elsewhere, creators may not be able to deliver what you expect. Creators should be able to see what they'll be working on.

✅ DO:

  • Use the dedicated field to write your full script

  • List product benefits or key points clearly in the proper sections

  • Select “Editing Services” if you need captions, transitions, music, or animated text. This will be done by our Motion Graphics Team.

  • Ensure that your brief fits the duration that you selected—15s, 30s, and 60s only

🚫 DON’T:

  • Upload your brief to Google Docs, Dropbox, Canva, etc.

  • Send the script or instructions later via chat

  • Say “Script will be provided after approval”

  • Ask the creator to upload or send longer videos than what you've ordered

🎥 Do Not Request RAW Footage or External Uploads

Creators are only responsible for delivering one final video file. Billo does not support requests for raw clips, separate B-roll footage, or alternate versions outside of the task.

⚠️ Important: Asking creators to upload files to Google Drive, Dropbox, or to share unedited footage is a violation of platform policy. All final video uploads must go through the proper approval process through the platform.

✅ DO:

  • Specify the exact shots or angles you want in the brief

  • Select Editing Services for enhanced video delivery

🚫 DON’T:

  • Ask for raw footage — this is outside of the scope of services Billo provides

  • Request uploads to external drives or platforms

  • Expect creators to deliver multiple video versions unless ordered through the platform

📩 Keep Everything Within the Platform

All communication and deliverables must remain inside Billo. This helps protect both you and the creator and ensures all expectations and content history are properly documented.

✅ DO:

  • Use the task chat to provide clarification, discuss the task, and follow up on the video

  • Submit edit requests using the platform’s built-in tool

🚫 DON’T:

  • Ask creators to email you directly

  • Move the conversation outside the Billo platform

  • Request additional forms, contracts, or NDAs outside of Billo’s scope

  • Use the chat to send or provide your edit request

🔒 Creator Social Media Accounts Are Not Required

Billo creators are not selected based on their social media profiles. We focus on quality UGC, not social influence.

Please note:

  • Creators are not required to share their Instagram/TikTok handles

  • Creators do not post the videos they create for your brand

  • We cannot request their social profiles on your behalf
