Edit Requests

As a creator, you might occasionally receive edit requests from the Billo Quality Team or directly from the Brand. These requests are a normal part of the process, as clients have the right to ask for adjustments, and it's part of your responsibility to make the necessary edits. 🙏

Where To Find Edit Requests?

When you receive an edit request, it will be communicated to you through the following channels:

  • Email

  • Push Notification

  • Billo App

If you've missed the notifications, no worries! Navigate to Billo App > To do > Edits needed. Here’s an example of how an edit request notification appears within the app:

How Much Time Do You Have

Once you receive an edit request, you are expected to upload the revised version of your video within 48 hours. 🎯

If you need any clarification about the request, don’t hesitate to reach out to the brand directly. Clear communication is key to ensuring a smooth process 😉

In case you did not hear back from the brand within 48 hours, send Customer Support a message, and we will help you follow up with the brand.

How To Upload Your Edited Video

To upload your edited video, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Billo App.

  2. Navigate to To do -> Edits needed.

  3. Click on the task the video is for.

  4. You’ll find a button labeled "Upload edited video".

  5. Click this button to upload your revised video.

Common Mistakes & How To Avoid Them

For the most common mistakes and how to avoid them, please refer to this article.

Edit Request Not Visible?

If you notice that an edit request was sent but you do not see it on your end, it is likely that the client purchased editing services and the edit request was directed to our Motion Graphics Team. In such cases, the Motion Team will handle the necessary revisions.

I Received Edits Outside the Brief. What Should I Do?

Some edit requests may fall outside the scope of the original task brief.

What counts as an edit outside the brief?

Examples include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Requests to change the original script or messaging

  • Asking you to alter the video’s duration or aspect ratio

  • Requests for raw or unedited clips

  • Asking you to film in a different location

  • Requests to change outfits

  • A full re-shoot of the video

If the requested edits are not within the original task brief, you are not obligated to make those changes.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Message the brand directly via chat and politely let them know the edit request is not within the scope of the original brief and doesn’t align with Billo’s guidelines.

  2. Re-upload your video (if it follows the original brief), and explain that all valid edits have been completed as required.

  3. If the brand insists on the changes and you’re open to making them, please reach out to Customer Support so we can help coordinate this directly with the brand.

✅ Tip: Edits that follow the brief are part of your responsibility and should be completed. But if they go beyond the original scope, you're not required to fulfill them.

My Video Was Already Approved, but Edits Were Requested

Sometimes, you may notice that a video you uploaded was already approved—but then a brand comes back requesting edits. Here's how and why that can happen.

What is Auto-Approval?

Auto-approval occurs when a brand does not take action on your video within a set timeframe. When this happens, the Billo system automatically approves your video on the brand’s behalf.

  • For most brands, auto-approval kicks in after 3 business days.

  • For larger brands or custom arrangements, the window may be up to 5–10 business days.

Important: Auto-approval is done by the system, not manually by the brand.

Can a Brand Still Request Edits After Auto-Approval?

Yes—occasionally, a brand may return to request edits even after the video has been auto-approved.

Here's how Billo handles it:

  • If the brand reaches out within 5 calendar days of auto-approval:
We may unapprove the video and allow the brand to submit an official edit request.

  • If more than 5 calendar days have passed:
Billo will contact you first to ask if you’re still open to making the edits. You are not obligated to accept, but your cooperation is always appreciated!

What If the Auto-Approved Video Doesn’t Follow the Brief?

If your uploaded video was auto-approved but doesn’t follow the original brief, and a revision is necessary, you will be required to make the edits, even if it was already marked as “approved.” This ensures the brand receives content that meets the task requirements.

⚠️ Please double-check that your content aligns with the brief before uploading to avoid delays or revision requests after auto-approval.
