Reshoot Requests
As a creator, you might occasionally receive reshoot requests from a brand. These happen when the raw content you submitted doesn't fully match the task brief — and addressing them is part of your responsibility as a creator on Billo.
Where to Find Reshoot Requests
When you receive a reshoot request, it will be communicated to you through the following channels:
Email
Push Notification
Billo App
If you've missed the notifications, no worries! Navigate to Billo App → To do → Reshoot requested.
How Much Time Do You Have
Once you receive a reshoot request, you are expected to upload the revised version of your video within 48 hours.
Keep in mind that brands can submit up to 2 reshoot requests per piece of content. This means you may receive a follow-up request after uploading your revised version, so make sure each submission closely follows the brief to avoid multiple rounds of revisions.
If you need any clarification about the request, don't hesitate to reach out to the brand directly. Clear communication is key to ensuring a smooth process. If the brand remains unresponsive despite your communication, notify Billo's Customer Support team. They will reach out to the brand on your behalf and provide updates to ensure clarity and avoid delays.
If you do not hear back from the brand within 48 hours, send Customer Support a message, and we will help you follow up. If no further action is taken within 3 business days, the platform will auto-approve the video.
How to Upload Your Revised Video
To respond to a reshoot request, follow these steps:
Go to Billo App.
Navigate to To do → Edits needed.
Click on the task the video is for.
Click "Review & upload" — this will show you exactly which video or clip needs to be reshot.
Upload your revised video directly under the slot that requires the reshoot.
Once uploaded, click "Save changes" — this confirms that a new version has been submitted.
Click "Confirm" — this ensures your video will be published for further review and approval by the brand.
Once all reshoot requests have been addressed and all revised videos have been uploaded, click "Done."
Common Mistakes & How To Avoid Them
For the most common mistakes and how to avoid them, please refer to this article.
I Received a Reshoot Request Outside the Brief. What Should I Do?
Some reshoot requests may fall outside the scope of the original task brief.
What counts as a request outside the brief?
Examples include (but aren't limited to):
Requests to change the original script or messaging
Asking you to alter the video's duration or aspect ratio
Requests for raw or unedited clips. You can upsell your raw clips to the brand as an extra asset.
Asking you to film in a different location
Requests to change outfits
A full re-shoot based on a new creative direction, not in the brief
If the requested reshoot is not within the original task brief, you are not obligated to make those changes.
Here's what to do:
Message the brand directly via chat and politely let them know the reshoot request is not within the scope of the original brief and doesn't align with Billo's guidelines.
Re-upload your original video (if it follows the original brief), and explain that all valid requests have been completed as required.
If the brand insists on the changes and you're open to making them, please reach out to Customer Support so we can help coordinate this directly with the brand.
✅ Tip: Reshoot requests that follow the brief are part of your responsibility and should be completed. But if they go beyond the original scope, you're not required to fulfill them. Do not cut out parts of the script without confirmation from the brand.
My Video Was Already Approved, but a Reshoot Was Requested
Sometimes, a video you uploaded may have been approved — but then a brand comes back requesting a reshoot. Here's how and why that can happen.
What is Auto-Approval?
Auto-approval occurs when a brand does not take action on your video within a set timeframe. When this happens, the Billo system automatically approves your video on the brand's behalf.
For most brands, auto-approval kicks in after 3 business days.
For larger brands or custom arrangements, the window may be up to 5–10 business days.
Important: Auto-approval is done by the system, not manually by the brand.
Can a Brand Still Request a Reshoot After Auto-Approval?
Yes — occasionally, a brand may return to request a reshoot even after the video has been auto-approved.
Here's how Billo handles it:
If the brand reaches out within 5 calendar days of auto-approval: We may unapprove the video and allow the brand to submit an official reshoot request.
If more than 5 calendar days have passed: Billo will contact you first to ask if you're still open to making the changes. You are not obligated to accept, but your cooperation is always appreciated!
What If the Auto-Approved Video Doesn't Follow the Brief?
If your uploaded video was auto-approved but doesn't follow the original brief, and a revision is necessary, you will be required to address the reshoot request, even if it was already marked as "approved." This ensures the brand receives content that meets the task requirements.
⚠️ Please double-check that your content aligns with the brief before uploading to avoid delays or reshoot requests after auto-approval.
